M.I.G. WELDING

All our welders are fully trained in M.I.G. welding and are experienced in sheet metal work and general fabrication enabling them to carry out anything from light gauge panel work to heavy chassis repairs with confidence and experience. All repairs are flush fit and fully welded (subject to curvature) rather than overlapped, preventing any future rust traps.

T.I.G. WELDING

In addition to M.I.G. welding we offer T.I.G. welding of mild steel, stainless steel and Aluminium. Again, all our repairs are flush fit and fully welded. For much of our T.I.G. work panels are cut to a perfect fit and then fused together, without the addition of any welding wire, thereby giving flat welds which require no grinding, saving your time and money.

ENGLISH WHEELING

Dating back to the dawn of motoring, the wheeling machine or 'English Wheel' as it is more commonly known, was used in traditional coachbuilding techniques for making panels with three dimensional curvature. Today the 'English Wheel' is invaluable for classic and vintage car restoration. Panels can either be 'blocked out' (beating into a shape carved into a block of wood) and then smoothed out with the wheel or they can be worked between the wheels to stretch and raise shape as required

PANEL MAKING

For older or rare vehicles, buying replacement panels simply isn't an option so here at Mobile Welding Services we will make bespoke repair panels or sections, either by copying the original or by calculating the original shape from the surrounding areas. Our highly skilled and dedicated team of classic car restorers can fabricate panels in mild steel or aluminium using both modern and traditional tooling techniques.

PANEL REPLACEMENT

Whether fitting a bought panel or one of our hand made repair sections, the greatest of care is taken to make sure the panel alignment is not just as good as it was from the factory, but better! Using tried and tested methods, we make sure that door apertures and panel gaps are straight and true, particularly when carrying out major structural repairs such as the re-silling of a monocoque bodyshell.
